Hours: Must be available at 4:30AM or 5:30 AM (Philippines time) Tues-Sat to be teleconference with lead developer in California (US)
General duties: Analyze, enhance, and test software under the guidance of a lead developer

Salary: 30,000-45,000 PHP/month

Our offices are in Tacloban City and Cebu City, as well as telecommute options. Applicants for this position are expected to stay in Tacloban City for the duration of the contract or until the Cebu office is opened, at which point hires may transfer. Telecommute may be an option for freelancers with ample experience and skill.

Programmers will be expected to analyze, enhance, and test software according to detailed specifications under the supervision of lead programmers in the US. Our development process is carefully designed to ensure the highest possible quality in terms of code and functionality. Code reviews and coding conventions are strictly enforced.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Our client owns an event management system that allows organizations to offer classes, workshops, events, trainings or conferences for which participants need to register in advance. Other features include surveys, reporting, email notifications, and payment processing.

Programmers will be responsible for maintaining the existing product written in ASP Classic then producing a new version using ASP.NET

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design, develop, and fix the product under direction of a lead programmer
- Communicate directly with lead developer via Skype and chat on a daily basis
- Participate in code reviews and other quality assurance practices
- Use task management systems such as Trac or Bugzilla
- Document code
- Follow coding conventions
- Design database schemas including constraints and indexes
- Write database reports (SQL)
- Implement dynamic interfaces using AJAX with Telerik tools and jQuery

REQUIREMENTS

- 2-3 years experience (more is better)
- Strong written and spoken English
- Version control (SVN, bazaar, git, etc.)
- ASP Classic
- ASP .NET, Microsoft .Net framework
- SQL Server 2005/2008
- OOP
- SQL
- Knowledgeable of web standards and cross-browser compatibility issues

- Experience with Telerik.com tools is a plus
