WEB DESIGNER
We are looking for a Web Designer to work on variety of web and ecommerce projects. The ideal candidates won't be creating new styles but following styles already created like:
- Able to create Secondary Designs based on a pre-defined Style
- Must be good in following a set of design rules that will be supplied
- Show initiative and ask questions where required
- Provide constructive feedback and be part of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Des igns web page layout and on-line content, user interfacegraphics, icons, colour schemes, design web templates, content layout and infrastructure of new and existing web site projects.
- Design and supports content management for clients
- Liaise with Team Leader, Development Team and end client to develop an excellent customer experience
You will ideally have experience in the following:
- HTML (Conforming to XHTML strict doctype standards)
- CSS (Valid and up to current w3 standards)
- Adobe CS5 (Cutting and exporting in an optimised fashion)
- Experience in working with CMS platforms, including Wordpress.
- Demonstrated understanding of usability issues, knowledge of web standards and human interface guidelines.
You will be able to use the above to create functioning, cross browser compatible websites
Preferred knowledge:
- Smarty templating language
- Developing and adapting sites for mobile devices
- WordPress structure and functionalities
Your background;
- A tertiary qualification in Web Design or Multimedia.
- 1 to 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Solid portfolio of previous work and a passion for new technologies
- Creative flair with ability to come up with design options with and without guidance
- Strong graphic skills, proficiency in Adobe CS(Flash, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator), graphic design tools
- Exceptional eye for design and detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in a similar role working as Web Designer on new website creation.
